Sof opens to the sound gallery. Tap a sound or mix to open its player and start playback. Tap the circle to show or hide the controls. Use the back arrow beside the sound name to return to the gallery. White Noise has no listening limit. Other sounds have 30-second previews.

Choose from White, Pink, Brown, Blue, Violet and Grey Noise, plus Rain, Ocean, Beach, Forest, Thunder and Fireplace. Ocean brings waves washing against rocks; Beach is the gentler shore recording. The noise colors are generated continuously; the ambient recordings are bundled with the app and loop seamlessly.

The sounds are bundled or generated on your device, so listening works offline. Purchasing, restoring, and receiving updated subscription status require an internet connection. No Sof account or sign-in is needed.

Yes. Your last sound or mix, volume levels, favorites and timer preferences are saved on your iPhone. Playback stays paused when you reopen the app—tap Play when you’re ready.

Choose Create mix in the gallery or Create Custom Mix in the player menu. Use Edit sounds and the volume sliders to adjust the layers, then tap Save mix and enter a name. Saved mixes appear in their own section of the sound library with blended color circles. Tap the circle to reveal controls and choose Open mixer whenever you want to tune a mix.

Open the player’s three-dot menu and choose Save favorite. You can give a custom mix a name. Find saved sounds and mixes under Favorites in the same menu or by tapping the heart in the sound library.

Open Favorites and swipe left on a saved item to delete it. You can also choose Remove favorite from the player’s menu while that sound or mix is selected.

Tap Timer, then choose 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes. Choose Custom for a duration from 1 to 720 minutes. Tap Start timer to begin the countdown and playback.

When enabled, Sof gradually lowers the sound during the final 15 seconds of the timer, then stops playback. Turn it off if you prefer the sound to stay at its selected level until the timer ends.

No. The countdown keeps running while playback is paused. To remove the countdown, reopen Timer and tap Cancel timer. To begin a new countdown, choose a duration and tap Restart timer.

Sof is designed to continue playing while your iPhone is locked or you use another app. You can play or pause from the Lock Screen and Control Center. A call or another app taking over audio can interrupt playback.

Check both Sof’s Volume control and your iPhone’s volume buttons. For a Custom Mix, make sure at least one layer’s slider is above zero. Check the audio output in Control Center in case sound is being sent to headphones or another device. If a sleep timer has finished, tap Play again.

Without full access, playback stops when the 30-second preview ends, even if a longer sleep timer is set. You can continue with White Noise, preview another sound, or unlock full access.

A finished sleep timer, a call, another app taking over audio, or disconnected headphones can stop playback. After an interruption, return to Sof and tap Play if it hasn’t resumed. Force-closing the app also stops playback.

There is no account to reset. Deleting Sof from your iPhone removes its local mixes, favorites and preferences. Reinstalling starts fresh unless iOS restores app data from a backup. Deleting your app data cannot be undone within Sof.
